The Essentials of Bookkeeping program is designed for students to explore
the growing use of computers in the small business world with emphasis on
general business operations, bookkeeping and computers.
Duties for graduates include recording and maintaining business
transactions, journals, general ledger, preparation of financial
statements either computerized or manually, reconciliation of bank
accounts, inventory, payroll and more. This program not only teaches
bookkeeping basics, but also how to operate a small business office.
The length of this program is three Grading Periods over four months for
day students, eight months for evening students.
Students must complete the program with a minimum "D" average.
Prerequisite:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
